Indian youth and Poltical Careers
I dont claim that I know a lot about the topic i am refecting upon. It just came as an idea to check what all opportunities the GOI provides to people who dream of changing the system by being in the system, people who think that this country has seen no efficient leaders of the ilk of Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose and who think they can contribute more than leaders who have successfully contested with the same old petty issues on their manifestoes time and again.
Try googling on this topic you will find several pages of unrelated information... not a single link would guide you correctly... there are no incubators, no proper system is in place which will help one steer through this smog..... even if such institutions exist then they might be extra well managed as they expect to survive without having a proper interface for interaction.
The party agendas have hardly changed. Caste and religion politics are played even today as were played 50 years before, rape and murder cases have multiplied, corrupt bureaucracy still ensures that you pay extra bucks at each level. Every intiative gets stalled in the demand for more money, even defence deals and consignments are not spared and not a single major project has been scam free. Problems of farmer suicides had existed earlier and are still prevalent.
64% of the indian population is the youth which supposedly symbolises aggression, strength and willingness to change the world but how efficiently has this talent been tapped. No significant avenues are open in diverse fields.... a country cannot be just run by MBA and Engg degree holders ..... fields like arts and commerce are still looked down upon... lawyers are among the ill payed people. The government has done little to curb brain drain .... small incentives and little planning is what is required ... afterall few will mind if they have to compromise a little and get to work for their country ..... to start with something is definitely better than nothing but who the hell care for this neways. Those interested go for administrative services and end up working under people who dont deserve to be there at the first place.
Who am I anyways to speak about all this. I havent voted even once and I am 20 now. Same attitude is shared by many and there exist people who are full of revolutionary ideas but the common thing to both is that at some point of time or other all would have thought of doing something for the country. There should have been something in place which would have molded this thin feeling into something concrete.

You sound so frustrated and all .. never thought the great indian plitical sham was playing so badly on your mind. waise good educative piece and no the Indian govt is not going to heed to the youth of the nation. In India the power of ballet rules evrything. A case in point being the revisting of ghosts of the mandal era in the form of reservations for the OBC's.

if u reflect on the % of youth voters from the "educated section" of society, it's a very very small section, almost 0.
first of all i am not for brain drain but it constitutes a substantial chunk of forex......
and dont condemn grads of arts or commerce...u ppl luk upon them as some under educated ppl but dude they get the jobs which u ppl get(ex: HLL- same profile as urs)
well my dear "the banda", i don't look down upon the commerce or arts students. its that the society does! i had an eco. hons degree if i didnt get here.. and then i'd be doing arts and not engg, and would've skipped commerce (the 2nd grade of education) its what the general public thinks, not i. so look at it from that point.
@ "the banda": If you are talking abt what i have written then i guess its pretty clear that i am talking about the general perception among the majority .... and if you dont accept this i am forced to say that u are unaware of facts.
well aashish i think the spectrum of ppl u meet r engg......that too frm IIT ( i guess, u sai's frnd, thats why)...... u ppl luk down upon everyone.... arts and commerce are interestin fields....man here is where money lies....intelligent ppl also join these courses...havent u heard of St.Stephen's in delhi....one of the most famous coll in india....all students wid gud marks want to get admission here!!!!!!

@the banda: well i had admission into st. stephens too.. its just that i enjoyed engg more than eco that i took up engg. no one in the sc. world looks down upon the commerce and arts, actually i am the first person in my family to take up sc. and not commerce or arts as a field of study! i know exactly what are the prospects of what nad where!! read what i said before u point a finger at a non-existent claim!! well, i guess either u are too sad not to get engg, that u urself look down on the commerce or arts fields, that u dont look at the origional point of discussion here!
